RESTAURANT WEEK
The culinary fest invites residents and visitors to experience the variety of dining options throughout Rockland. It's aimed to create awareness of our esteemed restaurants and introduce new customers to those establishments. Restaurant Week also marks the anniversary of Rockland’s incorporation on March 9, 1874.
Restaurant Week was not held in 2021 due to the pandemic. However, supporting restaurant owners and their staff is extremely important to us. We are honored to partner with them to help highlight their endeavors. Most restaurants around town offer dine-in, takeout, delivery, or curbside pickup. Choose to eat local and support local! Check out the participating restaurants from our 2020 Restaurant Week event. We will be updating the list below to include all Rockland restaurants. Stay tuned for an updated list coming soon.

BULLDOG PRIDE WEEKEND
A weekend of town-wide activities held in September invites residents and visitors to come together and celebrate their hometown pride.
Rockland Cleanup Day kicks off the weekend with a cleanup along Union Street and the Rail Trail in a joint effort with the Open Space Committee, Rockland Highway Department, and the Rockland Park Department. Year after year residents, scout troops, municipal leaders, local businesses, and neighboring towns have continued to show their support and spirit of volunteerism. Rockland Cleanup Day is also held each spring with just as much enthusiasm and pride!
To celebrate and appreciate the hard work put into the Cleanup Day we meet the following day for a Bulldog Pride Dog Walk with our families, friends, and our puppies! The approximately 40 minute walk starts at the Rockland Senior Center and loops through the neighborhood back to the Senior Center via the Rail Trail. The route was chosen to highlight Rockland’s community resources and downtown.

SOLE OF ROCKLAND BUTTERFLY CHAIR PROJECT
The Rockland High School IMAGES Club has collaborated with Sole of Rockland artist, Carolyn Lewenburg, to attract residents and visitors to the Town Hall area.
Their partnership led to the creation of six butterfly-shaped chairs designed to include the artistic shoe prints from the Sole of Rockland public arts project that occurred during 2018.
“The addition of the benches is meant to bring a sense of vibrance and new life that would greatly align with the hopes of REiMAGINE ROCKLAND’s aim to improve the town and give it a taste of some new, colorful beauty.”
To enhance the beauty of the butterfly chairs, Rockland High and Middle School students wrote short poems about transformation to be incorporated into the chair design.
The project is expected to be revealed in the spring.
